“THALASSERY RICE PATHIRI “ THE TASTE OF BREAKFAST!


 THALASSERY RICE PATHIRI


INGREDIENTS

Rice Powder (roasted) or pathiri powder - 2 cups
Water - 2 cups
Salt to taste

PREPARATION METHOD


  • Heat a bowl and add water with salt. When it boils slowly add the rice powder to it mix well and switch off the flame.
  • Slowly add required water and add salt to make the mixture.
  • Change the contents to a bowl and press it well to make the dough. You have to press it very well at least for 10 minutes. Well pressed dough makes soft pathiri.
  • Make balls from it and roll it as we do for chapathies. You can use the rice powder while rolling the pathiri.
  • Heat the pan on medium fire, when it is hot place the pathiri on it. When steam comes turn the pathiri to other side. Remember it will take only few seconds so do not wait for long.
  • Then turn again, soon you can see the pathiri puffs up.
  • Remove the pathiri from the pan. Though we cook on medium heat pathiri should not get color change or brown spots.
  • When pathiri is done, dip it in coconut milk.
  • The tasty Pathiri is ready. You can serve it with any non veg curry.
